In Charlie’s Memory

Tuesday, September 16th, 2025

Today’s blog is going to be dedicated to the assassination of Charlie Kirk that took place last week. I was and continue to be deeply impacted by his death, the work that he had started and the incredible responses that have come out since his death. As in much that happens in our world, when people get squeezed a little, we see what comes out of their heart. It has been a drastic mix of incredible goodness and deep darkness.

I really believe many do not know who he was or what his life’s mission was. When he was 18 years old (2012), instead of attending college, he decided to start a business called Turning Point. He could see the negative impact college was having on students’ physical, mental and spiritual well-beings and he wanted to change that course. His business worked to instead bring truth and healthy debate to college campuses. His debate points are Biblically based, and he is very focused on spreading the gospel. He also stirred up that generation’s desire to be involved politically and let their voice be heard. Interesting that we are in the Hebrew “pey” decade of using our voices!

He had this incredible way of speaking truth in love. He challenged college kids that disagreed with him to come and ask him their hardest questions and then he provided thought-provoking answers with Biblical values and truth as their backbone. Even if the people directly asking the questions didn’t come to see the light, there were thousands of bystander students that heard truth and learned how to debate in a bold but respectful way. And now, I am convinced many more are watching his powerful videos online.

Since his passing, I continue to hear of more and more people praying, opening their Bibles for the first time in years and many deciding to go back to church. Charlie’s mission began on college campuses, but his influence has spread to every demographic, every race and many countries around the world. I just keep saying, Lord what is my part? I believe we all have a choice to respond in this moment. We may not be called to be like Charlie, but are we fulfilling the mission God has for each of us individually? In what way can we impact future generations towards righteousness and godliness?

Final Thoughts…

God gave me a phrase as I was pondering all of this lately. He said, “If we don’t awaken the church governmentally, we are going to lose the church Biblically.” That’s exactly what Charlie did. He stirred a generation to use their brains and get involved based on the promises in the Word of God and the Constitution. Church and government cannot be separate. We need to start voting for righteous leaders or we are going to lose all of the religious freedoms that we have. Too many other countries have already gone down that path. Please, don’t let this moment pass us by. Seek God to see what your part is. This is a Turning Point in our history, and I want to make sure as many people as possible are on the fruitful side of this point.
