Testimony Time

Revelation 12:11 says we will overcome our enemies by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimonies. So I am going to keep sharing my testimonies believing that another power of darkness is defeated every time I do. Isn’t it amazing how all the incredible things in our lives really benefit us at least twice. Once when we experience God’s mighty hand and again when we tell others about His wonder-working ways.

Typically, I do my grocery shopping towards the end of the work week, but this past Tuesday I felt a strong urging to make an earlier trip into town. There was something on sale I wanted to get and another item from a separate store that I needed for the chickens. So after lunch the kids and I headed to town. After stopping at the first store, I had a choice to make. Usually, I take the back road to go to the other store, but I really felt like I was supposed to take the main road.

As I was pulling up to turn left at an intersection, I saw a vehicle turning into a parking lot that ended up hitting and running over a bicyclist. A woman in a car behind me was in a better position to pull over and she got out, ran over to the victim and was calling 911. I finished going through the intersection with non-stop tears and prayers. I knew I needed to head back to the site of the accident and pray for that man. I made my way over to the parking lot and did just that. First responders were already there taking care of him in the physical, so I interceded for him in the spiritual.

Having seen the accident, I was amazed to hear him talking coherently and seeing him moving his legs and arms. I just kept praying. I was praying for the first responders, certainly for healing and even for this man’s salvation. There was so much on my heart to pray, and I offered it all up to God. Once the man was in the ambulance, one of the other witnesses came over and asked how I was doing. I told her I had been praying the whole time. She responded by saying she couldn’t believe how well he was doing and that “he must have had someone looking out for him.” That’s the power of a God that answers prayers.

Final Thoughts…

I love when God sends holy detours into our day. When I think back at all the little things that added up to me being where I was at the exact moment of that accident, I know that God orchestrated every second of my day. I so want to get better and better at hearing His voice in the big moments, the little moments and everything in between. It might seem like a small thing to go shopping on a different day or take a different route to our destination, but if it means a soul is saved, healed or encouraged isn’t it worth it? I so hope to meet that man someday to hear all that God did!
