Today I am going to share a couple of personal testimonies. Revelations 12:11 says (NKJV; words in brackets are mine):
11 And they overcame him [the accuser] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
It’s Jesus’ blood and our sharing of all that God has done in our lives that strengthens our faith and the faith of those with which we share our testimonies. And no testimony is too small. Having a heart of gratitude is not based on mountain-moving things happening every day. It’s recognizing that God is the reason for the air we breathe, the dwelling that keeps us dry, the food that fills our stomach and the income that covers the bills. The best way to rise above the dark cloud that tries to envelope us is to recognize and thank God for everything we have. It all came from Him, and it all returns to Him.
As a single income family we do a decent amount of planning and budgeting to make sure we are not overspending. I like to pay bills out as far as I can in order to get the best “rate”. This is the case with our home and auto insurance. In the last few weeks that annual bill came due. Immediately, the enemy tried to get me stirred up, thinking about how we were going to pay those bills. I followed his greasy growls for a little bit until I realized what was happening. I repented for not trusting in God and got my soul back in line with my spirit. Every time he sent another fiery dart I said, “Nope, I am trusting that God will provide.”
Interestingly enough, this happens to be a month where my husband gets an extra paycheck. Between that and limited extra spending this month the whole bill is covered. At first I was thinking we could maybe cover half and then take some from a savings account, but even that wasn’t necessary. God provided and our faith was one again strengthened.
The other testimony has to do with a new venture we took up this year. I really felt we were supposed to raise turkeys. Those of you that are aware of the price of eggs and the bird flu situation might know that these two things have made it challenging to get chicks of any sort. My search for turkey poults was quite unsuccessful until Holy Spirit whispered to me to ask Jim’s brother, who lives 3.5 hours east if there were any chicks/poults out his way. He just happened to be near the store, went in and was able to purchase 12 meat bird chicks and eight turkey poults for us. So, my husband took the trek out to get them and bring them home. About 90% of that trip is on our NYS Thruway, which comes with tolls. I just recently got the bill for that trip and most of the amounts were between $0.04 and $0.19. The total amount for the trip was exactly $1.00, which is typically around $20.00. Once again, God provided.
Final Thoughts…
I hope these testimonies encourage you. And even more so, I hope you have your own testimonies that you can share with your circle of influence. Think of the multiplication factor that happens if each of us share a handful of testimonies. Two testimonies quickly become 1,000 and all of a sudden, the rocks, flowers and skies will be singing the goodness of God in unison. And there is nothing our accuser can do to stop it.
