Starting off with some scriptures today. Here are a few verses from Proverbs 8:
15 By me kings reign,
And rulers decree justice.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles,
All the judges of the earth.
17 I love those who love me,
And those who seek me diligently will find me.
18 Riches and honor are with me,
Enduring riches and righteousness.22 “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way,
Before His works of old.
23 I have been established from everlasting,
From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.29 When He assigned to the sea its limit,
So that the waters would not transgress His command,
When He marked out the foundations of the earth,
30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;
And I was daily His delight,
Rejoicing always before Him,
31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
And my delight was with the sons of men.
Do you know what is being referred to in the above scriptures? It’s wisdom. As I was reading this a few days ago I just kept reading and re-reading this chapter. All of these scriptures were painting such incredible pictures in my mind. Wisdom was possessed by the Lord from the beginning, before earth was formed. Verse 30 says wisdom was beside God as a master craftsman. She was His delight and she rejoiced before Him always. How incredible is that? Look at how all of Creation works together and exists together in ways we still have yet to figure out. The words of wisdom that God spoke when He called it all forth are still echoing today, continuing to do exactly what He intended.
Wisdom says, “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. Riches and honor are with me.” Wisdom is one of those things that we all know we need more of. Wisdom is probably one of the words I use most when I am praying. Whether I think I know what a situation needs or not, I recognize that God’s wisdom far exceeds my own. I don’t want the situations in my life to just turn out okay, I want them to be kissed with heavenly wisdom so that all who are involved will know that God was the master craftsman. Wisdom has a way of drawing us closer to God. Once we experience God’s wisdom, we see just how trustworthy He is and how much He loves us.
Final Thoughts…
The same wisdom that was side by side with Creator God is the same wisdom that Solomon requested and it’s the same wisdom that Jesus left with us when He gave us Holy Spirit. It’s not some distant pleasantry only reserved for the most noble or the most righteous. It’s available to any of us. It doesn’t require a degree or even a high school diploma. Its only requirement is a heart humble enough to ask for it. Lord, give us all a renewed desire to seek diligently after wisdom. Show us the places where pride has not allowed Your wisdom to flow. Open our eyes to see all the places where Your wisdom has protected, guided and blessed us. May these reminders help us to trust You and Your wisdom from now throughout eternity.
