We Need You Jesus

The trip to D.C. was a lot about worship, fasting and praying for our nation and the harvest that is coming. As we took the Million Women momentum back to our home cities and towns, we all acknowledged that it’s also important to seek God for practical ways to make a stand. The first opportunity I felt God leading me to was a “Stop Transing Kids” rally that we heard about on our bus ride to D.C. This group has been doing rallies for years in front of Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester to shine a light on and stand against the puberty blockers and irreversible medical procedures that are being done on children at that facility.

For the most part it was a very peaceful rally. We had quite a few people waving and honking their horns in support. We also had a couple of politicians make an appearance and share a few words. Towards the end however, we were met with some resistance. An individual that worked in the hospital came out and was cursing and yelling about how terrible we were. They stated that they had had some type of transgender surgery and that it had saved them from suicide. They also shared that they were a counselor to patients in the hospital who were undergoing similar alterations.

My country-girl mind was a little bit in shock. There were so many things I wanted to say, but I didn’t say a word. My thoughts ranged from, “Are you sure you are happy about what you did, because you don’t seem very happy?”, “Is this how you talk to your patients?”, “I cannot imagine you counseling my child.” The individual proceeded to take pictures of all of us and then go get a friend to yell more obscene things and send some not-so-friendly hand gestures.

The whole way home, my mind and my spirit were trying to decide what to do with what I had just experienced. There are so many in the world that are being led so deeply astray by an institution that is sugar-coating their devious deeds. I cannot believe how far we have fallen in just a couple of decades. It breaks my heart to think of all the parents that have lost their children to the false claims of a system that used to practice “Do No Harm”. Body parts are being sacrificed and many are being permanently sterilized all so that unrighteous governmental “leaders” and business owners can rake in the profits.

Final Thoughts…

Stepping out of my country-bubble helped me to get a glimpse into how much our world needs Jesus. The blind and those leading the blind astray are going to start to cross our paths looking for truth and hope. Are we ready to invite them in regardless of how they look or what they have done? And the other piece I was introduced to, are we ready to turn the other cheek when we meet those who oppose what we are trying to do? Once we make a decision for Christ and start to stand for righteousness, we must expect resistance. The enemy will not like what we are doing, and he is going to try to stop us. It will be very important in the coming days for us to know when to speak truth and when to turn the other cheek. Lord, show us our part in the coming harvest. Help us to not get in the way. Help us to spread Your love and peace everywhere we go.
