As I have been thinking more about the dream that I shared on the last blog, God has showed me another related scripture. In 2 Corinthians 6:15 (KJV) it says:
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
I’m going to deep dive into verse 15 for a moment. The word “concord” here means agreement (Blue Letter Bible). Belial means worthless or wicked one and it’s another name for Satan (BLB). Webster’s 1828 defines infidel as one who disbelieves the inspiration of the Scriptures. My response in my dream to Holy Spirit’s fire feels a little bit like I wasn’t believing the inspiration of the Word of God. Either I had no understanding of what Holy Spirit fire looked like, or I didn’t believe His Word that says He goes with us in the fire.
Verses 17-18 (KJV) of the same chapter say:
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
When God brought that fire to my front yard that was my invitation to “come out from among them and be ye separate”. How willing are we to stand out from the crowd? Can we see yet that our walk with Christ is becoming less and less acceptable in our culture? Are we willing to obey the voice of the Lord even when others may think we look foolish? These are not easy questions to answer, but if we are to live abundantly through what is rapidly coming our way, we must give our final answer, our way or God’s way.
Those gray areas where we used to hide away undetected are going to soon be inhabitable. The church has been silent for too long. We have gone along with the crowd for too long. We have worried about who we might offend or turn away for too long. God is soon going to ask us to be stronger and braver than we have ever been before. This could mean jumping into a fire so that we and those around us can see the power of our Heavenly Father.
Final Thoughts…
As each day passes, I am feeling the call from God to be more and more intimate with Him. In order to know what fires we are supposed to jump into, we have to know the heart of God. Our walk with Him cannot be a check list item or a block on our schedule. If we are going to ask Father to dwell inside of us, we have to be willing to let Him lead us every step of the way. We must believe His Word and every word that He still whispers to our hearts and minds. We must be willing to let His fire separate us from everything that is not His will.
